Predator calls is pleased to feature Stabilized Wood
in their newest calls.
Stabilized
wood is either a hard or soft wood
impregnated with acrylic resin. To stabilize
wood, it is placed in a pressure chamber with clear
acrylic resin. The resin is pushed all the way through
the wood. The wood is then placed into an oven to
harden the acrylic.
Stabilized
wood has all the beauty and sound of the wood used.
It also also has all the quality of acrylic. Stabilized
wood is waterproof so it won't swell in cold weather
and won't dry out in hot weather. It makes soft woods,
like Redwood Burl, hard enough to work with and allow's
for it to take the abuse of everyday hard hunting.

Redwood
Burl: Typically a soft wood, stabilized
Redwood Burl is a beautiful Burl wood. (click

Box
Elder Burl:
Very unique burl. This wood sometimes comes with Black
Spalt but occasionally we get some Rose Spalt. (click

Buckeye
Burl: A mix of tan & gray in color. Every piece
of Buckeye is different with occasional Black Spalt. (click

English
Walnut: we get some great looking pieces of this
hard wood. (click here to see

Carolina
Cherry Burl: Darker then Box Elder
Burl, this wood is found to be a reddish color. It's hard
to find a good solid piece for calls, but it's worth all
the hard work when we do find one. This wood makes beautiful
calls. (click

Spalted
Tamarind: A unique wood full of
black spalt traditionally harder than Spalted Maple, giving
a better call quality. (click

Carob: A beautiful unique wood with tones
of red, brown, tan & black that we can only get in limited
quality. (click
